In Loving Memory

Of My Brother & My Hero

Corporal Ronald Lee Fewell

March 30, 1958 - March 16, 1983

Ronnie was killed in the line of duty while responding to a domestic violence call. The male half had gotten into a domestic dispute with his wife over their son borrowing the car. The subject was an alcoholic and had been drinking all day. During the dispute he shot his wife in the stomach. Family members fled the residence and the subject was then threatening to kill himself. Upon arrival, Ronnie placed his car between himself and the residence reported to be the location of the incident. The information was incorrect and it turned out that Ronnie was in the line of fire. The subject fired a single "fluke" shotgun round which struck Ronnie just below his bullet proof vest while exiting his vehicle. After a standoff, the subject turned the gun on himself but survived. The subject is now serving consecutive life sentences in a Florida State Prison.

Ronnie was killed exactly two weeks before his 25th birthday. He left behind his wife, five month old daughter, parents, twin brother and myself.
